PDX Orchestra Academy is an orchestra day camp for string players in Portland, Oregon.
Led by conductor Raúl Gómez-Rojas (League of American Orchestra's 2019 Bruno Walter National Conducting Preview Awardee and Music Director of the Metropolitan Youth Symphony), this 5-day summer camp (no overnight stay) offers students a challenging and rewarding learning experience led by members of the Oregon Symphony, Portland State University and more.
Our 2020 camp will feature two orchestras of different levels conducted by Dr. Gómez, and includes technique workshops, sectional rehearsals and a daily Stage Mastery class, where students will learn skills including stage etiquette and public speaking.

PDX Chamber Orchestra: 9:00am-5:30pm
PDX Sinfonia Orchestra: 9:00am-4:00pm (optional stay until 5:30pm)

In addition to orchestral rehearsals with Dr. Gómez, students will benefit from technique workshops and sectional rehearsals with our distinguished faculty.
Stage Mastery Class
Being on stage is more than just playing a musical instrument in public. Students will learn skills that will improve their stage presence and confidence, including public speaking coaching.
